With Inner Alliance, Galerie Retour De Voyage in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue invites visitors into the singular world ofRuta Jusionyte, where paintings and sculptures engage in a quiet dialogue within a space where boundaries gently dissolve : between human and animal, between matter and emotion, between seeing and feeling.
Stepping into Ruta Jusionyte’s world
An internationally recognized contemporary artist, Ruta Jusionyte creates work that feels deeply inhabited, poised at the intersection of the visible and the intimate.
Her practice builds an immediate, instinctive visual language. It does not rely on narrative, but on sensation. Figures emerge without introduction, already loaded with a story that we will not tell you and that it is up to you to imagine.

Paintings and sculptures : humans and animals share the same breath.
In the work of Ruta Jusionyte, there are animals, human figures, almost always a young woman... no one is posing, everyone simply coexists. Something moves between them – a quiet breath, a gentle tension – circulating through bodies and gazes, even when each looks in a different direction.
The animal – bull, lion, rabbit, turtle, fish, horse, stag, doe, wolf, tiger… – embodies an instinctive presence. The human, figure, seems to carry awareness, a certain resolve, perhaps even a subtle power… of seduction? The young woman does not impose herself. She receives, absorbs, moves through the scene the way one enters a house, already inhabited, with a calm sense of belonging.
Stepping into Ruta Jusionyte’s world, is to encounter presences that seem to know you before you begin to look at them. It is also to question presence itself, relationships, and what connects rather than separates.
The colors of Ruta Jusionyte’s work
It is impossible to speak of Ruta Jusionyte without speaking of color—, or rather, colors. Deep ochres, luminous ambers, vivid tones that appear without warning…
Each hue carries an emotional charge. They heighten tensions, illuminate faces, thicken silences. At times soft, at others almost burning, they become a language in their own right, within the paintings of course but also in the sculptures … where one absolutely must meet the blue elephant and the goat that seems to have stepped straight out of the ochre quarries.

To paint, to sculpt : the same necessity.

In the exhibition Inner Alliance, paintings and sculptures come together within a scenography conceived as a natural extension of Ruta Jusionyte’s studio.
The sculptures give physical form to the figures already so present in the paintings, as if they had stepped out of the canvas to settle more fully into your space. They anchor both human and animal presences in the room, making them all the more tangible
Choosing a sculpture over a painting ? Better, both… for their complementary presences.
Opening Reception on 21 may : an experience to be lived
The exhibition opening, the 21st of in the presence of the artist, offers a chance to enter this universe in a more unexpected way, thanks to a certain Madame Irma and her ultimate Butler.
A singular proposition will accompany the discovery of the works. Around certain figures, certain correspondences, a dialogue will unfold —between images, perceptions, and sensations.
Some visitors will be invited to follow a thread, oving from a sign to an image, from an intuition to a work.
A way of approaching the works differently.
No longer only with the eye, but with what quietly rises, from within
An invitation to an inner experience, Linger a little longer than planned
WithL’alliance intérieure, Ruta Jusionyte does not ask you to understand. She opens a space where it feels right to linger, allowing the images to do their slow work.
Reference points shift slightly, certainties soften, and something essential—sometimes silent—begins to emerge.
An exhibition to move through slowly.
And perhaps, on leaving, not quite stand in the same place.
