
Biography
Khin Zaw Latt is a Burmese artist, painter and sculptor, born in 1980 in Laputta (Myanmar). He lives and works between Yangon and Bangkok.
Khin Zaw Latt : Early and International Recognition
Trained at the University of Culture in Yangon, Khin Zaw Latt emerged in the late 2000 s as one of the leading artists of his generation. The recipient of several national awards and a finalist for the Sovereign Asian Art Award , he was quickly recognized beyond Myanmar.
His work has been exhibited across Asia, the United States and Europe, establishing at an early stage an international presence. This recognition is rooted in a highly distinctive painting style : expressive, vibrant, deeply grounded in social reality.
A Social and Educational Commitment
Khin Zaw Latt’s engagement extends well beyond the canvas. He founded the Bamboo School, an educational initiative open to children from underprivileged backgrounds, offering instruction in art, English and computer skills.
In a country regularly affected by political and natural crises, he mobilizes his studio and network to share resources, support local communities, and maintain access to art for as many people as possible. His practice thus reflects a sense of collective responsibility as much as an artistic one.

Following the military coup of February 2021, Khin Zaw Latt has remained true to his principles, continuing to support the most vulnerable. Internationally, his work has become a space of memory and resistance.
Through both his paintings and his support of fellow artists, he helps sustain an open cultural dialogue, connecting the Burmese art scene with international networks despite a context of profound instability.
Khin Zaw Latt & Retour De Voyage
The collaboration between Khin Zaw Latt and Retour De Voyage is built over time. Since 2015, several solo and group exhibitions have presented his major series in France.
This long-standing partnership accompanies the evolution of his work and contributes to his lasting presence on the European art scene.
